After a nine-week break, the Charlotte Roller Girls return to action on July 19 at the Grady Cole Center to kick off its 2009 intra-league championship. Competing in this first bout are Charlotte’s two original intra-league teams, the Block’em Sock’em Rollers and Cockpit Candies. These two teams faced off last year with the Block’em Sock’em Rollers taking a narrow two point victory.

During the summer, Charlotte takes a break from interleague competition in order to bring fans its intra-league championship. This championship runs from July to September and consists of three qualifying bouts followed by a title-deciding round, the final home bout of the year. This is a serious competition which allows fans the opportunity to see all of Charlotte’s players compete at home.

To kick off its intra-league season, the Charlotte Roller Girls will host the Intra-league Rollout Bash on July 10. This free public event begins at 9:00 p.m. and will be held at Dilworth Neighborhood Grille, located at 911 E. Morehead Street.

This event marks the official start of Charlotte’s 2009 intra-league season.
